This painting was accepted into the Spilsbury Medal Show at the Federation of Canadian Artists' Gallery
on Granville Island in December 2008.

The Story

This is me in my previous studio, though I purposely left the face rather undefined because this represents every painter and some of the emotions we experience.  The dramatic lighting and greyed colours create a mood that seems to vary from viewer to viewer.  This is one of my favourite pieces, as it allows the observer to bring their story in with mine and create something more meaningful.


Note: This is a difficult piece to photograph and much better to see in person.
