UPCOMING CLASSES in Walnut Grove:

Drop-In Sessions:

On the last Thursday of each month from 10am - 1pm, Lalita will be holding a drop-in session at her studio in WindSong. The idea is that you bring whatever you'd like to work on, or you can request a demo / information /exercises, have some work critiqued...whatever you'd like! It's $40 for the 3 hrs, and it'll be great if you can let her know beforehand if you're coming...however, if you decide to come at the last minute, that's fine too!

The last Thursday of each month from 10am - 1pm for $40, which will run in 2011 for the months of Oct & Nov, and then in 2012 for Jan - May.

*All scheduled classes in Lalita's studio have a maximum of 10 people per class, and take place in Walnut Grove (north Langley) at 20543 96th Ave (click on 'map to studio' on the home page to view) unless otherwise specified. The minimum recommended age is 14yrs.

Painting the Portrait from Life

I will be hosting Martinho Correia at my studio in May 2012. Martinho teaches at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence; he will be teaching in Calgary, and then flying to Langley just for this workshop! We will be using live models and each artist will complete a portrait during the workshop. Please see the attached poster.

Some of you have seen the painting I did of Carravaggio's St. Gerome (the old man & the skull); I completed that painting while taking a course from Martinho three years ago.

All levels are welcome! Drawing experience is an asset but not required.

*Please note that the early-bird registration fee of $600 breaks down to $120 per day for demos, instruction and help from an excellent instructor plus painting from a live model. To do this on your own would cost at least $120 per day just for the model!

PRICING

Classes at Lalita's studio work out to roughly $10-15/hr

Privates / Semi-privates are $50/hr for up to 4 people

Groups who would like to hire Lalita by the hour can expect to pay $55-$65 per hour, depending on the size, distance, and requirements of the group.
